This position is for an SEL tutor. This position would help to run the SEL room as well as work with small groups on SEL Lessons. All lessons would be provided. This position is 29.5 hours 

 

  • Guide students through identifying their feelings and emotions before beginning their sensory break.
  • Support students as they use the sensory room, tailor items to meet their needs, and ensure they have a safe and reflective experience.
  • Keep data on zones of regulation and strategies used.
  • Manage weekly and daily schedules.
  • Work with teachers and BST to determine times and days to maximize opportunities for students who need daily support.
  • Keep up to date on sensory-related research, activities, and approaches that can be used to support students.
  • Ensure that all equipment and sensory materials are safe (reaching out to administration if materials are broken or no longer safe and usable).
  • Maintain cleanliness of sensory room. 
  • Manage and monitor student breaks (those already built into schedule).
  • Support students with self-regulation strategies.
