Terms of Employment:

Ten, eleven, or twelve-month year. Salary and work schedule to be established by administration.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises the production and serving of quality meals for students and staff
- Follows meal accountability procedures
- Maintains accurate financial records as prescribed by the School Nutrition Director and Finance Officer
- Maintains accurate employee time records
- Maintains records on food and supplies received and used
- Assumes responsibility for maintaining proper storage and security of food and supplies
- Assumes responsibility for the security of revenue from cafeteria services until it has been turned over to the proper authorities
- Ensures that menus are followed
- Assigns, directs, plans, and supervises the work of cafeteria employees
- Communicates effectively, prepares semi-annual evaluations for all cafeteria employees, and provides feedback related to job performance.
- Assists in the preparation of food, serving, cashiering, and daily cleaning
- Successfully complete ServSafe or other approved food safety courses to maintain certification
- Directs sanitation and HACCP procedures in the cafeteria
- Plans work schedules, and arranges for substitutes when required
- Holds periodic staff meetings to review the performance of the cafeteria team
- Provides assistance to the School Nutrition Director in training staff
- Ensures daily cleaning of serving lines, tables, and furnishings and makes sure the cafeteria areas are maintained in a neat and sanitary condition
- Assumes responsibility for checking that all equipment in the cafeteria area is in safe, working condition, and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs or replacements are needed
- Instructs new cafeteria personnel in performing their assigned duties
- Offers recommendations for improvement of the cafeteria operation to the School Nutrition director and/or school principal
- Ability to use critical thinking skills to solve problems that arise and prevent crisis
- Performs related duties as assigned by the School Nutrition director or supervisor
- Maintains a neat, clean appearance with appropriate dress and following uniform policy
- Demonstrates a high degree of professionalism and ethics, working cooperatively with the Board, the Superintendent, administrators, certificated and non-certificated personnel, parents, and students
- Demonstrates proficiency in written and oral communication
- Attends all meetings as required by the School Nutrition Director and Superintendent
