Bus Monitor
Qualifications: Education and/or experience that demonstrates the qualifications to perform the job satisfactorily.

Reports To: Director of Transportation
Job Goal: To provide safe and efficient transportation by monitoring student behavior and attending to the special needs of exceptional students while they are using school buses so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.
Terms of Employment: 10-month year working as needed
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists exceptional students by accurately operating/manipulating special
equipment used on the bus and entering and exiting the bus.
- Lifts and places students comfortably as needed.
- Seats students in their assigned location.
- Monitors students’ behavior.
- Intervenes between students having conflict.
- Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality of information
about the children.
- Reports problems and concerns of students to the designated authority.
- Learns and remembers the bus route.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Assists in keeping assigned bus clean.
- Check-in and check-out as directed.
- Allows assigned students to board and exit only at authorized stops
- Completes required reports accurately and on time.
- Enforces regulations, against smoking and eating on buses
- Participate in appropriate training and meetings.
- All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
